Let’s just say that love can be found in the most unexpected of times and places. We met the “old-fashioned” way – shy and getting to know each other during a night on the town without realizing that love was around the corner. That night, full of laughter and dancing, was when our lives began to intertwine forever. Pretty soon we would be inseparable.

Our first date had us back in the city. We walked through the different downtown neighborhoods getting caught in the rain. It was one of those perfectly-imperfect moments, and we were too wrapped up in conversation to care that we forgot to pack an umbrella. Neither of us could wait to see the other again.

Jax came into our lives by chance, rescued from the wild streets of Durham before he was even 3 weeks old. He’s been a part of our little family since the start. Although Jax will not be participating in the wedding, he is a founding member of “The Hasics”.

The first time hitting the tropical sun together: Look at those tans! If resorts were a test of true love (pre-pandemic) then the two of us passed with flying colours.

We moved into our first home together barely a month into the pandemic! The official true test of love. We tackled many “firsts” together here and grew even closer during the lockdowns.

Lola came into our lives not long after we moved in together. Anyone who has met her knows that she is the center of attention and has a personality that fills the room. She will be the first to greet you at the door! Unfortunately Lola will be missing from the wedding but she will be there in spirit!

The day had finally arrived… the proposal! In a favourite spot of ours, without wanting to wait a single day longer, shaky hands and nervous excitement revealed a ring and a question. The answer: yes! The rest is history.

As you all know June 30, 2023, is the official date of our wedding. We can’t wait to take the first step into the rest of our lives and share it with the people we love. See you all there!
